The brand-new iBasso DX120 digital audio player comes with very attractive specifications at a reasonable price. Let’s get to know the details.
A challenge achieved
It has been quite a challenge, but the hard work has paid off for iBasso’s engineers. After hours of design and research this reporter has a THD+N of -111dB.
For the development of this model, they have sought to go beyond the established to get the most out of the DAC chip AK4495.
Other iBasso DX120 specifications
With a balanced 2.5 mm output and another standard 3.5 mm headphone output, this is a versatile player with a frequency response of 10 – 45 kHz.
The output voltage is 6 Vrms for the first type of connector and 8 Vrms for the standard.
Its touch screen IPS is 3.2 inches, with a resolution of 480 x 800.
Dual micro SD slot and optimized autonomy
In addition, the iBasso DX120 has a dual micro SD slot, so you can take many more music tracks with you.
In terms of autonomy, we know that it has been optimized and allows up to 16 hours of playback with standard audio files. Another advantage is its doubly fast charging technology.
New Mango OS
The new generation of Mango OS sound, derived from Linux, is highly adapted, with deep optimization and rapid implementation of the entire user interface.
Using DMA hardware to process I/O tasks in the background, releasing the processor, makes the audio decoding completely isolated, so the CPU is no longer interfered, greatly improving the real-time performance of the entire audio channel, making the sound layer stronger, cleaner and fuller.
Design and construction
The iBasso DX120 follows a similar line to that of its big brother, the iBasso DX200, but with softer and more ergonomic shapes.
The knobs for volume control and other player functions are located on the right side of the device. This makes it easy to use with one hand.
If you decide to get it, it is currently available in two different finishes: brown and metallic blue.
You can choose the one you like best. Next? Go out and enjoy the music with high quality sound within the iBasso mid-range.
