Fast forward sixty-two years, and they’re celebrating their heritage with the Grado GH1. The Grado GH1 is the first headphone to ever be built from a Brooklyn tree, and marks the beginning of their Grado Heritage Series. What makes this mean even more to them is that the tree is from their hometown of Sunset Park.
Grado Labs has been hand building products in Brooklyn for over sixty years. Their family’s Brooklyn heritage goes back to 1911, when Joseph Grado’s father came from Sicily and made his home here. His great-grandfather then opened his fruit store in 1918, and continued till 1952. In 1953, that store became Grado Laboratories.
The performance is dynamic, the bass frequencies are authoritative, the midrange is true, and the high frequencies are immaculate. Grado hopes you enjoy this little piece of Brooklyn as much as they did making it.
